XXL Freshman 2013 List

XXL does it again....  Another horrible list. I'm sure it must be hard to gather a good list of talent though (not sure why but it must be) .. Let's think back to 09. KiD CuDi, Charles Hamilton, Asher Roth, Wale (when he wasn't a babbling coon), Blu, Curren$y, and Mickey Factz (left the others off on purpose)... But anyway, these guys were so good that they needed seperate covers!! They were all bringing something new to hip hop.
Each list after that has just been watered down fan favorites who all seem to be the same artists. That's not to down play what J. Cole, early Wiz Khalifa and Kendrick Lamar have been to hip hop but c'mon XXL. You can do a lot better. The fact that Kirko Bangz, Trinidad James and Chief Keef are on this list is just a shame. I don't think Schoolboy Q or Ab-Soul are that great but being on a list with those 3 is just a flat out disrespect to these two dudes who have worked their asses off to get to where they are. Props to Angel Haze too but other than that, the list sucks. Joey Bada$$ just isn't there yet. If you're looking for a young star to throw on the cover, why would it not be Earl Sweatshirt? He's a million times better and an actual star.
The fact that Dom Kennedy and Phil Ade never got on the cover bothers me as well. These dudes put Lil Twist on the cover before Dom Kennedy.... *shaking my dreads* Childish Gambino has been the best hip hop act since the 09 cover and of course he doesn't make the list last year or this year... And I have to mention Chance The Rapper who also has his own style and is alot better than most guys on this year's cover but didn't get on... I don't know what else to say. XXL needs help. And not from fans voting because those retarded fans probably listen to A$AP Rocky and think he's nice.

Joey Bada$$ - Don't Quit Your Day Job (Lil B Diss)

This is Joey Bada$$' response to Lil B's diss track. I must admit, I didn't think he was going to make a song or even respond at all but he began with some jabs via twitter and then released this later. This is nowhere near as good as the Azealia Banks and Angel Haze beef but it was quite entertaining yesterday. Can't quite agree with Joey's premise though. Lil B is a million times more entertaining than he is despite Joey's talent. If Joey starts making music that isn't so boring, he's gonna be on top for a while...
