XXL Freshman 2013 List
XXL does it again.... Another horrible list. I'm sure it must be hard to gather a good list of talent though (not sure why but it must be) .. Let's think back to 09. KiD CuDi, Charles Hamilton, Asher Roth, Wale (when he wasn't a babbling coon), Blu, Curren$y, and Mickey Factz (left the others off on purpose)... But anyway, these guys were so good that they needed seperate covers!! They were all bringing something new to hip hop.
Each list after that has just been watered down fan favorites who all seem to be the same artists. That's not to down play what J. Cole, early Wiz Khalifa and Kendrick Lamar have been to hip hop but c'mon XXL. You can do a lot better. The fact that Kirko Bangz, Trinidad James and Chief Keef are on this list is just a shame. I don't think Schoolboy Q or Ab-Soul are that great but being on a list with those 3 is just a flat out disrespect to these two dudes who have worked their asses off to get to where they are. Props to Angel Haze too but other than that, the list sucks. Joey Bada$$ just isn't there yet. If you're looking for a young star to throw on the cover, why would it not be Earl Sweatshirt? He's a million times better and an actual star.
The fact that Dom Kennedy and Phil Ade never got on the cover bothers me as well. These dudes put Lil Twist on the cover before Dom Kennedy.... *shaking my dreads* Childish Gambino has been the best hip hop act since the 09 cover and of course he doesn't make the list last year or this year... And I have to mention Chance The Rapper who also has his own style and is alot better than most guys on this year's cover but didn't get on... I don't know what else to say. XXL needs help. And not from fans voting because those retarded fans probably listen to A$AP Rocky and think he's nice.

Drake - Started From The Bottom

I'm sure we were all wondering when Drake would release another single and give some sort of clue that another album was on the way. About 15 minutes ago he took to twitter and dropped this song "Started From The Bottom" stating that it was indeed a single. I don't particularly agree with the drop in the beginning, but this is a really dope song that I'm gonna be bumping for quite a while. It's a million times better than that Aaliyah crap he tried to pull. ( Charles Hamilton and J Dilla) lol
Check out the song below.

Lil B - I'm The Bada$$ (Joey Bada$$ Diss)
Here's LiL B's diss track directed at Joey Bada$$ ... Seems like yet another page out of the Charles Hamilton book for Lil B. Not bad shoes to follow in but.... Maybe a bad target? Anyway, this song is probably a result of Joey's friend.. The one that died but really sucked at rapping... He said Tell the BasedGod don't quit his day job or some chizz like that. Check out the track and then check out Joey Bada$$' response above

Happy Birthday Charles Hamilton !!!
2012 was one quick year. Here we are once again on Charles Hamilton day! November 10th. I met Charles twice this year. Once when he was DJ'ing at Garfield's Lounge and again at his show at SOB's.. Pretty cool if you ask me but anyway.. Let's take today to honor the great musician and thank him for putting out tons of music for his fans and celebrate another year of the Hamiltonization Process. Many Blessings to CH in this year.

Mice People - "And Then They Played Sonic" (Album)
Mice People is back with their sophmore album on SoundCloud Records titled "And Then They Played Sonic". The title is paying respect to former Interscope artist Charles Hamilton who released a mixtape called "And Then They Played Dilla" which was paying respect to the late great J Dilla... A long series of paying respect lol. Mice People's debut album "Bent Out Of Shape" did a good job of introducing the band to the world and allowing them to establish themselves as this edgy but soulful collective. Although this album doesn't include the executive producing genius of Jay Z and 50 Cent like the debut, "And Then They Played Sonic" is just as edgy but alot more politically opinionated. On the song "Shame On Romney", Mice People bashes the Presidential Candidate and also on the song "Blu Cantrell", Mice People speaks on the situation of Jay Z's relationship with Blu Cantrell and naming his daughter with Beyonce after Blu.... Bold... A personal favorite on the album would have to be the song "Ill WIll". Mice People's ability to sneak songs like this onto edgy projects is just amazing. Anyway, enough of the background info. Check out Mice People's 2nd studio album under SoundCloud Records. "And Then They Played Sonic"

Charles Hamilton - "Bicycle" Disses Odd Future and MMG
Charles Hamilton dropped another series of projects, this song comes from "As A Street Rat" and he's dissing the most unlikeable people in music. See why this guy is a hero? No further comments on how lame Odd Future and all of Maybach Music is.... Charles also says "I can't wait for this season of Idol. Mariah gone get the fire smacked out of her by my rival"... (Nicki Minaj). If you've been keeping up with American Idol then you know there's some bad blood (planned for tv ratings) between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.... Anyway. Great song. Check it out. Charles Hamilton - StH4: Shadow The Hamilton
The hardest working man in show bizz... Just after releasing "I Always Die In Brooklyn" about 2 days ago, Charles Hamilton provides us with a full length project (i'd say album) titled StH: Shadow the Hamilton. The fourth piece to his Sonic The Hamilton series. The project even includes some instrumentals for all you duders who like rapping on people's beats :-( made me think of the whole London Keyes and Das Racist situation.... Gonna release it soon but.. Back to the matter at hand... Dr. Doomington's new project StH:4 is out so drop down to the link and download it

Charles Hamilton autograph
Today was a really dope day. Got to sleep in my film class, found my old The Hundreds sneakers and wore them for the 1st time in like a jillion months, got 7 dislikes on Youtube, Charles Hamilton sonned J. Cole once again but this time on MTV and... Oh yea! I went to The Charles Hamilton Experience at SOB's!!
It was pretty amazing. In the span of about 20 minutes, he made 3 beats infront of us, lit a cigar, memorized verses for 2 songs and began to record them... Charles Hamilton is on some next level chizz. By far the best musical performance i've ever seen. And he's insane on the piano... Much footage to come :-) Stay tuned
Charles Hamilton sons J. Cole ... Again

Charles Hamilton Thoughts On Pink Preview of Freestyle Competition
Okay.. So Poison Ivy is holding a freestyle competition in Brooklyn, on July 5th. I'm not at all hurt that they didn't respect my "lyrical abilities" enough to invite me but guess who's going to be in the building..... Charles Eddy Lee Hamilton !!!! ((YOU KNOW I GOTTA BE THERE)) Whether I get to freestyle with Sonic or get him to sign my Pink Beats, it's gonna be pretty dope. They shot this freestyle with Charles Hamilton expressing his thoughts on the color Pink as a preview so check it
out.
