Shawn K - Return Of The Nice Guys

Shawn K all day til the, til the, til the... Ummm.. Anyway, Shawn K took to SoundCloud last night on his birthday and released this track "Return Of The Nice Guys". It sounds like a booty mover but he's talking about some pretty heartbreaking chizz like being left at prom and homecoming :-(    I can kinda relate because I was at the grocery store yesterday and there was only one family box of Frosted Flakes left but I still got away safely without dying of any serious lung damage. Capital Ode Confirms New Release This Week

Capital Ode took to twitter today to confirm that he will indeed be releasing a new song on Friday! Apparently this is a song to get us ready for his project "TFoB" that is dropping in the Spring. Dope to hear that Cappa's getting ready to release some new chizz. Mice People - "And Then They Played Sonic" (Album)

Mice People is back with their sophmore album on SoundCloud Records titled "And Then They Played Sonic". The title is paying respect to former Interscope artist Charles Hamilton who released a mixtape called "And Then They Played Dilla" which was paying respect to the late great J Dilla... A long series of paying respect lol. Mice People's debut album "Bent Out Of Shape" did a good job of introducing the band to the world and allowing them to establish themselves as this edgy but soulful collective. Although this album doesn't include the executive producing genius of Jay Z and 50 Cent like the debut, "And Then They Played Sonic" is just as edgy but alot more politically opinionated. On the song "Shame On Romney", Mice People bashes the Presidential Candidate and also on the song "Blu Cantrell", Mice People speaks on the situation of Jay Z's relationship with Blu Cantrell and naming his daughter with Beyonce after Blu.... Bold... A personal favorite on the album would have to be the song "Ill WIll". Mice People's ability to sneak songs like this onto edgy projects is just amazing. Jay Z takes the train to his final show at the Barclay Center

On October 6th, Jay Z took the train to his final show at the Barclay center in Brooklyn and had New Yorkers flipping out and following him. That's pretty cool. Apparently he brought out Beyonce for the final night as well  :-)   Nothing better than Beyonce

Jay Z reveals 1st single from the Blueprint 4 album

"It was written by the staff in the land where the past exists"..... Random words I put together to work with my imaginary version of the single that Jay Z says will be released on October 14th. The song is called "No Love" and apparently features 3 other Brooklyn artists Capital Ode, Mouse Sucks and Shawn K . Look out for Jigga man's new single. Guess all those shows at the Barclay center got him ready for more music

Mice People - "Bent Out Of Shape" (Album)

I'd feel foolish saying "Album of the year" for Mice People's debut album under Soundcloud Records but it's very impressive. The album is titled "Bent Out Of Shape" and was obviously written through some sort of depression or anger. Sources say that Jay Z and 50 Cent played the roles of executive producers on the album and we all know they have the ability to make a classic album. Mice People's style is similar to that of a early Mouse Sucks. It would be completely awesome for them to work on some music in the future. My favorite tracks on the album have to be "The Love Song To End All Love Songs" and "Franny's Onion Rings". This is a truly creative album and apparently Mice People's final album in their contract with Soundcloud Records. XXL Magazine posted an article saying they might sign with Roc Nation. Let's just wait and see where the talented free agents go from here.

Mouse Sucks breaks down "Social Network (Rihanna's Box)"

You may be wondering what on Earth "Social Network (Rihanna's Box)" is all about and how it could even logically make sense... Well, I'm not on bath salts! I promise. Also, No the song is not about having sexual fantasies of Rihanna. The "(Rihanna's Box)" part will be explained below...
      It all started on a L.A.D.Y-ish night that ended with a lonely ride home on the train... Might've been around the time I released "Singing With A Ginyu Girl". Anywho, I was blessed enough to speak to an angel that night thanks to my intensive "social network"ing practice. My number one love, Hopie Spitshard was on the radio out in California so I decided to call in and I got a chance to talk to her.. You may remember this if you're a part of the imaginary cult that reads all of my blog posts.. Further, the day after I wrote 4 songs all about that night from the heartbreak session to hearing Hopie's voice.. "Social Network (Rihanna's Box)" was one of these songs. The "(Rihanna's Box)" part isn't about me lusting over the hottest chica in pop, it's about me wanting to be in a bigger space where more people are and have been ((Totally just called Rihanna a slut)) Sorry  :-(   I was voicing my displeasure with being Mouse Sucks at the moment. Everyone was downloading "Singing With A Ginyu Girl" and playing it on internet radio but I had a miserable night and I wasn't nearly where I wanted to be *scoots closer to Jay Z* ... The 3 other songs made that night were scrapped and replaced with 5 more. Their body is called "Hopie's Hiatus". All me and DJ Floppy. Stay tuned. L.A.D.Y coming up on Valentines Day. Owwwwwwwwww!

Charles Hamilton autograph

Today was a really dope day. Got to sleep in my film class, found my old The Hundreds sneakers and wore them for the 1st time in like a jillion months, got 7 dislikes on Youtube, Charles Hamilton sonned J. Cole once again but this time on MTV and... Oh yea! I went to The Charles Hamilton Experience at SOB's!!
 It was pretty amazing. In the span of about 20 minutes, he made 3 beats infront of us, lit a cigar, memorized verses for 2 songs and began to record them... Charles Hamilton is on some next level chizz. By far the best musical performance i've ever seen. And he's insane on the piano... Much footage to come  :-)  Stay tuned
